Local software startup Net- skope Inc. has moved its headquarters from downtown Los Altos to Santa Clara after outgrowing its Third Street space.

According to Netskope’s website, the growing company has three locations outside the U.S., in India, London and Melbourne. Employees at the now-vacant 270 Third St. office have relocated their main hub to 2445 Augustine Dr. in Santa Clara, said Netskope’s marketing director Fitz Barth.

Engineers from tech giants such as Cisco Systems Inc. and VMware Inc. founded Netskope in 2012 with the intention of evolving cloud network security. Bringing all of the social and promotional platforms employees can access to one platform enables employers to set a standard and enforce it across different applications and devices.

“We help the world’s largest organizations take full advantage of the cloud and web without sacrificing security,” company officials said in a press release. “With full control through one cloud-native interface, our customers benefit from 360-degree data protection that guards data everywhere and advanced threat protection that stops elusive attacks.”

Netskope last week announced it had raised nearly $169 million through venture capital firm Lightspeed Venture Partners to expand its research and global data centers.

Netskope was recently featured on the Forbes 2018 Cloud 100 list of the most valuable private cloud computing companies in the world. Its headcount grew by 50 percent in the past year, according to the announcement.

Netskope employees said they are sad to leave Los Altos, but they won’t be gone forever, indicated communications manager Zoe Revis.

“We would like to say that we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Los Altos and are appreciative of the hospitality the Los Altos community showed us,” she said. “Fortunately, many of our team members still live in the area, giving us a great reason to come back and visit.”
