Los Altos’ IKB Design & Construction, a Main Street mainstay for more than two decades, will continue operations under new ownership as President Ilona Lindauer prepares to retire.

Lindauer confirmed the status change in an email to her contractor team. She described her IKB gig as a “wonderful job of running a stellar design/build firm with a great team and a great reputation.”

Lindauer celebrated the 25th anniversary of her business in August by taking her staff and their families on a three-day cruise to Ensenada. She hinted then toward moving on from IKB, telling the Town Crier that eventually she would embark on a new phase in her life.

She plans to stay on as a consultant for a short time while the new owner, Chris Pandolfo, adjusts to his role. The company will remain under the moniker IKB, she said.

“He is excited to continue our tradition,” Lindauer said of Pandolfo in her email to staff. “He has an excellent background.”

Lindauer introduced Pandolfo to staff, clients and local residents at IKB’s offices last week.

“Thank you for your support over the years,” Lindauer said in her parting remarks. “Your professionalism has made all the difference.”

IKB is located at 346 Main St. For more information, visit ikbinc.com.
