Los Altos' Campi merges with Sotheby's real estate group

Los Altos-based Campi Properties Inc. is joining Golden Gate Sotheby’s International Realty, a merger that closes a chapter on one of the last independently owned real estate firms on the Peninsula.

Founder Gary Campi announced the merger with Sotheby’s Aug. 31 at the Stanford Park Hotel in Menlo Park. In a press release, Campi said the deal is “a natural evolution for the independent brokerage and a strategic expansion for Golden Gate Sotheby’s in one of the Bay Area’s most desirable real estate markets.”

A Town Crier phone call to Campi last week went unanswered.

Established in Los Altos in 1989, Campi Properties specializes in luxury real estate in Los Altos and surrounding areas. The Campi union aims to strengthen Golden Gate Sotheby’s presence in Silicon Valley and enhances its network that includes the Peninsula, the East Bay and Marin County.

Uniting knowledge, resources

Bill Bullock, president and CEO of Golden Gate Sotheby’s, welcomed Campi Properties’ management and agents with a message of unity.

“Our expanding brokerage brings together market leaders in each region we serve to form a powerful network of the finest caliber agents and most talented staff in the industry,” he said. “Together we can provide the highest level of service and local market access throughout the Bay Area.”

According to Campi, his company was founded on a “commitment to integrity and dedication to delivering exemplary service” to clients, a philosophy shared by Golden Gate Sotheby’s.

“By uniting the deep local knowledge of our agents with the wealth of regional expertise and expanded resources of the Bay Area’s premier brokerage and the global reach of the Sotheby’s International Realty brand, we believe the standard of service we will be able to deliver to our clients will be unmatched,” he said.

Michael Dreyfus, president of the Silicon Valley Region and a Golden Gate Sotheby’s principal, noted that Campi shares their commitment to “professionalism and a first-class client experience.”

“We are excited to be able to expand the Golden Gate Sotheby’s International Realty experience to Los Altos and its neighboring communities,” Dreyfus said.

Together with Campi Properties, Golden Gate Sotheby’s has more than 425 agents in 20 offices throughout the Bay Area.
