COFFEE FARM WORKER – Cloud Forest Coffee LLC is seeking 4 temporary, full time Coffee Farm Workers from January 1, 2019 to August 31,2019 for its farm in Honokaa, Hawaii to: garden & organize farm; pick, pulp, sort & dry coffee cherries; organize & clean warehouse; fertilize & prune coffee trees; assist roasting; mow lawn; weed; inform farm manager of crop harvesting progress & any operational problems or concerns. Duties may vary due to mechanical situations, availability if crop and weather. Workers must be able to move and lift up to 50 pounds. Workers must perform activities requiring considerable use of arms, legs & moving whole body repetitively for extended periods. Work performed in climatic conditions at a higher elevation, mild temperatures (50-84degrees F), moderate humidity, winds & periodic rainfall. High School diploma not required. Previous coffee laborer experience not required. On-the-job training will be provided. Allergies to fertilizers, insect spray, etc. may affect workers’ ability to perform job. Monday through Friday, 7AM to 3PM, 40 hours per week. Overtime not expected but may be requested. Required tools, supplies & equipment provided at no charge. If employer does not provide support of costs in advance and worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, employer will pay reasonable costs incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer to the place of employment. The amount of the transportation payment is no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved. The guaranteed pay rate is $14.37 per hour. Workers may be compensated above the guaranteed pay rate based on factors that include individual performance and work history. Employer guarantees employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the work contract. The guarantee period begins with the first workday after the arrival of workers at the place of employment. For hired individuals unable to return to place of residence within the same day, employer will provide housing at no cost.
