Polling places and drop boxes can receive vote-by-mail ballots until 8 p.m. tonight.

Polls opened 30 minutes ago – it's Election Day! You can drop off a vote-by-mail ballot at any polling location, vote center or ballot drop box, and make sure to do it before 8 p.m.

Have a say in whether California recalls Gov. Gavin Newsom, and who would replace him if a majority vote "yes" on the recall.

In Los Altos, you can find drop boxes at city hall and the libraries.

In Los Altos Hills, drop boxes are at town hall and Foothill College.

In Mountain View, the library, city hall, Computer History Museum and the Whisman Fire Station all have drop boxes.

You can find your most convenient drop spot and learn more about what and who is on your ballot today. If you prefer to use the postal service, ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by today – so you need to get them in a mailbox before pickup time.
