Cal Pops Orchestra performs Sunday afternoon at Foothill

The California Pops Orchestra is scheduled to close its season with “Pops Goes to the Movies!” – a tribute to film composers – 3 p.m. Sunday in Smithwick Theatre at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills.

The concert will feature memorable music from movies made in the past 80 years. The program includes themes from “Dial M for Murder,” “Mars Attacks,” “How to Marry a Millionaire,” “Independence Day,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Captain Blood” and “Blazing Saddles.”

Maestro Kim Venaas leads the 64-piece California Pops Orchestra, which is based in Palo Alto. Orchestra members come from throughout the Bay Area.

Tickets are $15-$42. Parking is free in lots 5 and 6, which are closest to the theater.

Foothill College is located at 12345 S. El Monte Road.
