CSMA offers slew of free performances this year at Tateuchi Hall in Mtn. View

The Community School of Music and Arts in Mountain View has scheduled several free concerts this year, beginning Jan. 16 and running through May at CSMA’s Tateuchi Hall, 230 San Antonio Circle, Mountain View.

The series features an array of shows intended for the entire family, including Stanford Live Informances – brief performances and educational conversations with artists.

Highlights include Native American music and dance, musical tributes to composers Debussy and Mozart, along with themed concerts for Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day.

The performance schedule:

• Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra (Stanford Live Informance), 7 p.m. Jan. 16.

• World Harmony Chorus concert, 7:30 p.m. Jan. 27.

• “Love Songs through the Ages” with mezzo-soprano Amy Bouchard, 7 p.m. Feb. 6.

• “Introducing Young Audiences to the Magic of Debussy” with Trio Organica, 2 p.m. Feb. 23.

• Piano recital with merit scholarship students of Ludmila Kurtova, 7 p.m. March 1.

• “Composing Modern Music” with Presidio String Trio, 7 p.m. March 6.

• “Creating on the Fly,” live musical improv, 2 p.m. March 16.

• “Classical & More” with Brassview, 7 p.m. April 3.

• “Mozart Comes to CSMA,” 2 and 4 p.m. April 13.

• “Celebrating Piano in the Movies” with pianist Nicki Kerns, 7 p.m. May 1.

• CSMA merit scholarship students’ Mother’s Day concert, 7 p.m. May 10.

• World Harmony Chorus concert, 7:30 p.m. June 9.

• “Bach, Beethoven, & Brahms” with cellist Irene Sharp, 7:30 p.m. June 26.

Seating is open and limited, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
