The Los Altos Town Crier

Art, wine take center stage in MV

The 42nd annual Mountain View Art & Wine Festival is slated 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday on Castro Street.

Presented by the Chamber of Commerce Mountain View, the festival is a multicultural celebration with 600 booths offering an array of art.

Thirteen bands are set to perform a wide range of music – from salsa to classic rock and disco – on the Civic Center Plaza Music Stage and multiple street locations throughout the downtown area.

The event will feature the Kids’ Park with Mobile Rock’s 24-foot climbing wall, bungee jumping, roll-on-water waterballerz, hula-hooping, carnival rides, hands-on art and body art. Additionally, youth are slated to perform in a “Mountain View’s Got Talent” showcase.

Festival eateries will sell several kinds of food and beverages, including beer and wine.

Sports fans will have a place to watch games on a large LED screen in the Comcast Pigskin Party Lounge.

There will also be an Organic & Green Products Showcase.

Festival admission is free.
