Bus Barn’s “It’s a Wonderful Life A Live Radio Play” stars Clara Hirsh as Mary Bailey and Martin Gagen as George Bailey.
Bus Barn Stage Company’s production of “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” is scheduled to close Saturday in Los Altos.
Adapted by Joe Landry from the original Academy Award-winning screenplay, George Bailey and Bedford Falls come to life onstage as a live 1940s radio program with five actors playing all the characters. The play evokes the era when the screenplay was written.
Ana-Catrina Buchser directs a cast featuring Martin Gagen as Jake Laurents (voice of George Bailey), Clara Hirsh as Sally Applewhite (voice of Mary), Ryk Houseman as Freddie Filmore (voice of Clarence, among others), Katherine Leyva as Lana Sherwood (voice of Violet, among others) and Charles Woodson Parker as Harry (voice of Joseph, among others). Charles Morgan is the pianist.
Performances are slated 7:30 p.m. today and 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at the Bus Barn Theater, 97 Hillview Ave.
