The Rotary Club of Los Altos is scheduled to revive its Fine Art in the Park open-air art show 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 14 and 15 in Lincoln Park along Foothill Expressway.
The 46th annual event will feature the fine art and craftsmanship of more than 100 artists, working in a breadth of media and styles, including painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, mixed media, ceramics, glass, stone, metal, wood and textiles.
Twenty-eight new artists will join returning participants.
According to organizers, the artists, many of whom have said Fine Art in the Park is one of their favorite shows, enjoy chatting with attendees about their work.
The family- and pet-friendly show will also feature food, beverages and live jazz, blues and rock music.
Attendees who visit the Fine Wine and Craft Beer Garden, near the Edith Avenue end of the park, can chat with local vintners and brewers, sample their products and listen to music.
The Bears’ Lair will be inhabited by a few of the painted fiberglass bears seen around downtown; the bears are available for purchase through an online auction fundraiser throughout the summer at losaltosbears.losaltosrotary.org.
All of the show’s proceeds benefit the Rotary Club’s local and international charitable endeavors, supporting, among other causes, scholarships at home and medical telehealth and education of girls abroad.
Fine Art in the Park is planned, curated and executed by an all-volunteer staff of Rotarians and local residents, with Carol Dabb, Sandy Mingia and Lindsay Carpenter leading the effort.
Free parking and a shuttle service to and from the show are available at Los Altos High School, Gardner Bullis School and Los Altos Hills Town Hall.
Organizers urge attendees to follow COVID protocols.
