Friends of the Los Altos Library created Books4Schools two years ago. Donations from the public fund the program, with the promise that their contributions will buy books for classrooms and at the same time support the Los Altos libraries. Initially focusing on elementary and intermediate school teachers, the program expanded to include high school teachers in 2020 through a grant from Los Altos Community Foundation.
