Muralist shares story in museum program

Los Altos mural artist Morgan Bricca is scheduled to discuss “Adventures in Mural Painting” 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Los Altos History Museum, 51 S. San Antonio Road.

Many of Bricca’s colorful murals can be found on the walls of local schools, including her “Los Altos Orchard Mural” at Santa Rita School and her “Peace in Our World” butterfly mural at Oak Avenue School.

“Adventures in Mural Painting” is the first in a series of free programs supporting the museum’s current exhibition, “Annie Knapp Fitz Paints: A Legacy in Art,” on display through Feb. 6.

CSA hosts day of activities for homeless

In keeping with its mission to preserve and promote the dignity of its clients, Community Services Agency has scheduled its second “Treat Yourself” event Saturday, a daylong event designed to provide a sense of well-being and belonging for its homeless clients.

Inspired by the TV comedy series “Parks and Recreation,” “Treat Yourself” will include games, art activities and distribution of clothes and personal-care items.

CSA seeks donations of new underwear, sports bras, socks and general clothes for men, women and children (ages 5-13), as well as travel sizes of shampoo, conditioner and body wash for hygiene kits to distribute at the event. Donors also may contribute gift cards to Target and Walmart.

Local residents interested in supporting the event through an online gift may call Kate Lincoln at 988-5073, ext. 150, or email klincoln@csacares.org.
