First Friday offers a moving experience
This month’s First Friday festivities, scheduled 6-8 p.m. Friday in downtown Los Altos, will feature a “Moving to the Groove” theme.
Los Altos Dance Academy (formerly San Juan Dance) is set to perform outside the Assistance League on State Street, and the Spartan Dance Club from Mountain View High School will perform at Veterans Community Plaza. Both dance groups also will teach a community dance lesson, and then the young dancers will dance around downtown to the 14 bands scheduled to play at First Friday.

Vines & Wines 2021 aims to lift spirits
Vines & Wines 2021, a wine tasting that celebrates the terroir and talents of Los Altos Hills winemakers, is scheduled 2-5 p.m. Oct. 10 at Los Altos Hills Town Hall, outside under the courtyard oak, 26379 W. Fremont Road.
Held approximately every other year, Vines & Wines is co-sponsored by Hills2000 – Friends of the Hills and the town of Los Altos Hills.
Los Altos Hills boasts more than 115 vineyards, none bonded to sell wine directly to the public. Most of the vineyards are smaller than 3 acres, but regardless of size, vintners report that winemaking draws family and friends together.
Approximately 20 vintners are confirmed for this year’s event, enabling Vines & Wines attendees to taste an array of whites, a rosé and red varietals from Cabernet to Zinfandel.
Tickets are $25 per person. Advance registration is recommended.
