The Los Altos History Museum hosted a groundbreaking ceremony Oct. 2 for a new drip irrigation system in the civic center’s heritage orchard.

The system was made possible by a conservation grant from Valley Water. Officials touted a 40-60% water savings.

The city plans to test the new system in one section of the orchard.

Valley Water officials, Los Altos City Council members, museum representatives and city staff were among those who attended the event.
