The Rotary Club of Los Altos recently awarded college scholarships to two dozen local students.

Local college students earn academic honors

  • Megan Buiocchi of Los Altos made the fall semester dean’s list at Hamilton College, which requires a course load of four or more graded credits throughout the semester with an average GPA of 3.5 or above. Buiocchi, a graduate of Woodside Priory School, is a senior majoring in history.
  • Ryan Fisse of Los Altos was one of 19 members of the Bates College Class of 2022 to be named a Dana Scholar. According to a press release from the school, being named a Dana Scholar is the highest honor a Bates first-year student can achieve. Fisse is a 2017 graduate of Los Altos High School. He is the son of Catherine Fisse of Los Altos, and Cynthia and Devin Fisse of Kailua Kona, Hawaii.
  • Kelsey Anne Moran of Los Altos and James Alexander Apffel of Mountain View made the fall semester president’s list at Gonzaga University, which requires a GPA of 3.85 or higher.

Local college students earn academic honors

  • Nicole Parsons of Los Altos and Sarah Davenport of Mountain View made the fall semester dean’s list at George Fox University, which requires a minimum GPA of 3.5 for 12 or more hours of graded work. Parsons is a junior majoring in psychology and Davenport is a freshman majoring in biology.
  • Caroline Keosaksith and Gabriella Mrozowski, both of Los Altos, made the fall semester dean’s list at Emerson College, which requires a GPA of 3.7 or higher that semester. Keosaksith is majoring in media arts production and is a member of the Class of 2022. Mrozowski is majoring in journalism and is a member of the Class of 2020.

Noteworthies: Local college students make dean's list

  • Sara Bares and Meghan Perna of Los Altos made the fall semester dean’s list at Belmont University, which requires a minimum course load of 12 hours and a GPA of 3.5 with no grade below a C.
  • Los Altos resident Aria Mendhekar, Class of 2023, made the fall semester dean’s list at Connecticut College, achieving Dean’s High Honors.

Noteworthies

Local students graduate from college

• Rachel Mock of Los Altos Hills earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology.

• Wyatt Eng of Los Altos earned a bachelor’s in bioinformatics from Pacific University. Eng graduated cum laude and received the Outstanding Contributions to Student Life Award from the university.
