Family of foodies promotes healthy reading


A Mountain View family provided reading resources during Food Allergy Awareness Week May 10-16. The informational poster is scheduled for display in the children’s section of the Mountain View Public Library, 585 Franklin St., through Sunday.


Fitness focus: No holds barred for Los Altos sisters

Health is all about balance. That’s what two Los Altos natives learned as they navigated work, motherhood and wellness – and lost approximately 30 pounds each along the way.

Fed up with crash dieting and drained by consuming workouts, sisters Megan Wilson and Gillian Brotherson took their health into their own hands. The sisters, whose maiden name is Sawyer, partnered to open barre3 Los Altos fitness studio March 30 at 4758 W. El Camino Real.

Yoga of Los Altos recently introduced a new class that keeps students on the edge of their seats: Chair Yoga.

According to instructor Cheryl Acheson, the class is open to anyone who may need to spend extended hours in a seated position – travelers on long airplane flights, deskbound office workers, people recovering from injuries and seniors with limited mobility.
