Wellness Festival comes to Palo Alto

The second Bay Area Wellness Festival is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Jan. 30 at Cubberley Community Theater, 4000 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto.

UPC sponsors healthful living class

Union Presbyterian Church of Los Altos has scheduled “Living Healthy 2011,” a class designed to ring in the new year with a resolution to focus on health and well-being, 6:30 p.m. Mondays in the church’s Bailey Hall, 858 University Ave.

Kim Fielding will lead the back-to-basics health and fitness class. Topics include “Let’s Start Fresh,” “Fitness vs. Fatness,” “Healthy Cooking,” “Body Image and Self-Esteem,” “Environment and Weight,” “Reading Food Labels” and “What’s the Best Diet?”

The evening’s topics will be sprinkled with proverbs that hold biblical implications, and each class will feature a variety of appropriate experts, healthful food preparation, exercise demonstrations and video clips.
