Two Los Altos restaurants earned mentions in the Michelin Guide’s “San Francisco: Bay Area & Wine Country Restaurants 2011,” released Oct. 27.
Sumika received “Bib Gourmand” status for being an inspector’s favorite for good value. The Japanese restaurant, located at 236 Plaza Central, was among 74 restaurants recognized for offering two courses plus a glass of wine or a dessert for $40 or less.
Zitune, 325 Main St., received the guide’s Recommended mention. Zitune, under the ownership of executive chef Chafik Larobi, serves seasonal and creative Moroccan cuisine with a modern blend of local ingredients.
This year’s San Francisco Michelin Guide includes 519 restaurants, which earned up to three stars. Mountain View’s Chez TJ, 938 Villa St., received one star, indicating a very good restaurant in its category.
