Alice in real estate: Coldwell Banker names veteran Alice Nuzzo agent of the year

Some people are born leaders. Alice Nuzzo, a sales associate with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in the Los Altos San Antonio office, is one of them. The company has honored Nuzzo for her outstanding career by naming her the Agent of the Year for Coldwell Banker in Silicon Valley. Nuzzo of Los Altos Hills is a highly regarded veteran realtor. Beginning her career as an escrow officer with Cornish & Carey, she co-founded Seville Properties in 1979. The prestigious local real estate firm served the community for 20 years before being acquired by NRT Inc. in 1997 and folded into Coldwell Banker. In addition to establishing her own real estate business, Nuzzo has repeatedly garnered accolades and awards for her hard work and success during a career that has spanned more than 30 years. "This award was created to recognize sales associates who best represent the spirit of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Silicon Valley, epitomizing professionalism, integrity and community service," said Joe Brown, president of Coldwell Banker in Silicon Valley. "Alice exemplifies what the award is all about. She is a consummate professional and truly deserving of this award. We are proud that Alice is a member of our Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage family." The award is named for former Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Sales Associate Vern Bugbee, a longtime realtor in the Saratoga and Los Gatos areas, who passed away in 2005. "Vern lived a life of principle and honor, caring very much about other people and always making them his first priority," Brown said. "That's why we named this award in his honor. Jane Bigelow, manager of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage's Los Altos San Antonio office, is thrilled for Nuzzo. "I am very proud of Alice and her achievement. She is a well-known leader in the industry and while she excels in her profession, she is an even more remarkable human being." The gracious Nuzzo was surprised and excited to receive the award. "I feel extremely honored to receive this award," she said. "To be recognized by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is incredible and very humbling. I truly enjoy everything about being a real estate professional - meeting new people, forming friendships, helping people attain their dreams of home ownership and serving my community through volunteerism. It really gives me a sense of accomplishment." In 1981, Nuzzo joined forces with her daughter, Alicia. Together, they specialize in the sale and marketing of homes in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. They have repeatedly earned the International President's Premier designation, a prestigious honor bestowed upon the top 1 percent of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage sales associates worldwide. Nuzzo has also received the Silicon Valley Association of Realtors' Achievement Award for Outstanding Sales Production every year since she has been in the business. Nuzzo said she has always focused on "keeping the clients' needs first." She added, "The most important things in our business are honesty and integrity." Throughout her career, Nuzzo has been an active member of the Los Altos Board of Realtors and has served in many different capacities for the organization. She is a member of the Silicon Valley Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, Women's Council of Realtors and Relocation Resources Inc. She is also an officer for the Los Altos Hills Ladies Club. Her professional designations include certified residential broker, certified residential specialist and previews property specialist, an exclusive title reserved for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage sales associates with experience and education in marketing and selling luxury homes. Nuzzo actively supports the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, Community Services Agency in Mountain View and Habitat for Humanity. She serves on the board of Family and Children Services Inc. for San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. Nuzzo and her husband have two children and five grandchildren. Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, the largest residential real estate brokerage in Northern California, serves the markets of Sacramento/Tahoe, The Bay Area and Silicon Valley. The company has 68 office locations and more than 4,800 sales associates throughout Northern California. Through its internationally renowned Coldwell Banker Previews program, the company is widely recognized for its expertise in the luxury housing market. Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is a member of the NRT family of companies. NRT Inc., the nation's leading residential real estate brokerage company, is a subsidiary of Cendant Corp., one of the world's foremost providers of travel and real estate services.
