Paul Charles Pickert passed away peacefully in his sleep on Dec. 19, 2015, at the age of 88. 

Born Feb. 7, 1927, Paul was the second of four children of Anna Louise and Aloysius Pickert of Batavia, New York. He attended St. Joseph’s Parochial School, Batavia High School and Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, and graduated from Princeton University in 1948. He briefly served in the Navy before attending the University of Buffalo Law School.

Marilyn Terman passed away at home on her 76th birthday. She is survived by her husband Terry, sons Jim and Martin, sister Judy, niece Brooke and beloved grand nieces Courtney and Audrey.

Marilyn loved reading about English and American history, attending local theatrical productions and singing in her church's choir. She also served as the treasurer of the Los Altos/Mountain View League of Women Voters.

Elizabeth Jane Darrow was born Elizabeth Jane Chubb at Merritt Hospital in Oakland, CA, the daughter of Gertrude Chubb, a teacher, and Phillip Chubb, an engineer for the Standard Oil Company. Elizabeth Jane grew up on Piedmont Avenue in Berkeley just blocks from Cal’s Memorial Stadium. Known as “Betty Jane” during her childhood and “B.J.” as an adult, she was the youngest of three children, preceded into the world by her brother Phillip and sister Alice.

Debbie Violett of Los Altos, passed away on December 30, 2015 from a rare form of Cancer. Debbie, with her discernable voice and great personality, worked for Draeger's Market for 25 years. She loved the patrons and they loved her. She, also, loved to cook for family and friends, travel to Italy and enjoyed taking care of animals.

Sequoia Hadassah of Silicon Valley has scheduled “Venture Capital and Entrepreneurship in the Silicon Valley,” a luncheon featuring keynote speaker William Henry Draper III, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 22 at Michaels at Shoreline, 2960 N. Shoreline Blvd., Mountain View.

Draper is one of America’s original venture capitalists. In 1965, he founded Sutter Hill Ventures, which organized and financed several hundred high-tech companies.

Lisa Seeman and Aaron Bodoh-Creed were married Sept. 5 in Berkeley. They held their ceremony in the redwood grove at the UC Botanical Garden and their reception at the Lawrence Hall of Science.

The bride is the daughter of Nancy and John Seeman of Los Altos.
