Robert Lerch, age 83, passed peacefully in his Los Altos home on February 23rd surrounded by his family. He was born in the Canton of Bern, Switzerland and immigrated to the United States in 1958, starting his engineering career in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he met and married his wife Denise.
His career in the Semiconductor industry spanned over 40 years taking him and his family on a global journey that included living and working in St. Louis Missouri, Belgium, Malaysia, Japan and lovely Los Altos, California. Robert was an accomplished private pilot, earning his pilot’s license first in Belgium and then continuing his hobby in Malaysia and California where he was a long time member of the West Valley Flying Club. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family. He was never happier than when he was enjoying time with his grandchildren to whom he passed along his love of the mountains and of skiing with many fond memories in Lake Tahoe.
He is survived by his wife Denise of 54 years, his two daughters, Genevieve Young-Lerch and Carolyne Zimmermann and his 3 wonderful Grandchildren Arianna, Madeleine and Christopher.
Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day - unseen, unheard but always near. Still loved, still missed and very dear.
