John Schuck passed away on February 20, 2014. He was born on April 10, 1929 on Long Island, New York. He was the oldest of six siblings.
John attended Rutgers University in New Jersey and played football for four years while studying for an engineering degree. He graduated with a BS in Ceramic Engineering.
He also belonged to the ROTC during his years at Rutgers. After graduation, he went into the Air Force for two years as a First Lieutenant.
John and his wife Pat met in high school and married while he was still in college. They were married for 63 years. John’s business career called for many moves in the U.S. and Ottawa, Canada. The family first came to California when he was hired at Fairchild Semiconductor as a plant manager. John was active in St. Nicholas Church where he taught CCD at our home in the ‘60s for two years. In the mid-2000’s, he led a Bible study group in our home for a few years.
John is survived by two siblings, Maryanne McKee and Vincent Schuck, and two daughters, Ellen Sweeney and Kathleen Barron, four sons, John III, Michael, Douglas, and Patrick, and seven grandchildren.
He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. A mass will be held at St. Nicholas Church in Los Altos on March 7, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask for donations to St. Nicholas Church.
