Resident of Los Altos Hills

Bob was born in Chicago, Ill. To Frank and Clara (Otten) Nutto, where he spent his youth. Inducted into the army in 1951, he was stationed at Dugway Proving Grounds, Salt Lake City, Utah. Upon returning to Chicago he was employed by Kuecker Shipping Ind., and met his future wife, Dorothy (Kupke) at a church sponsored Young Adults program. When Dorothy moved to California, Bob followed and they were married on December 28, 1958. They established their first home in Palo Alto where they raised their four daughters: Nancy Ganschow (George), Pamela Hemker (David), Lynne Ohara (Frank), and Jennifer Willkomm. He became active in Palo Alto real estate. After building their home in Los Altos Hills, he obtained his Contractor’s license and turned to construction. He took great joy in contributing his services to his community and church. His passions were his faith in Christ, spending time with his family and friends, and extensive traveling. He was an avid sports fan, loved West Bay Opera and local theater. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dorothy Burke. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of 54 years, his four daughters and sons-in-law, eleven grandchildren, one great granddaughter and his nephew, Jack Burke.

Funeral services were held at Bethany Lutheran Church on March 14. Memorial contributions may be made to Concordia College, Irvine, Pathways/Hospice, Bethany Lutheran Church, or a charity of choice.
