Resident of Sunnyvale
May 29, 1916 – March 13, 2013
Bob, a native Californian, passed away peacefully at the age of 96. He is survived by Penny, his loving wife of 53 years, sons Gerry, Denny and Rob, daughter Kathy and their families of 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. At the age of 26, he joined Pan American World Airways and as a Captain spent the next 34 years based in San Francisco flying westward servicing the Orient Theater. It was on one of those trips that he met Penny, a Pan Am flight attendant, and the rest is history.
His life was filled with family and life-long good friends, and there wasn’t a thing he couldn’t fix. He was always more than willing to help others who needed his skills. Always a smile on his face, a twinkle in his eye, and a heart as kind as they come. Bob will be dearly missed but his positive and joyful spirit will live on.
A memorial service has already been held.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Assn in Mt. View or to the Peninsula Volunteers’ Rosener Day Care House in Menlo Park where he spent many, many happy hours these past several years.
Thank you all for being a part of his life.
