Michael Korek, 82, of Los Altos, died Nov 27, 2012 at El Camino Hospital, Mountain View, CA (cause pending autopsy results).
Michael was the middle son of Joseph and Fanny Korek in Brooklyn. He received Bachelors and Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. His MBA is from City University of New York. He worked for many New York companies including Sperry Gyroscope before moving to California with his wife and two children. He worked for Stanford Research Institute (SRI) and then created his own business. His interests spanned many fields including tennis, photography, dancing, the arts, and alternative medical research. He is a founding member of Smart Life Forum where he made a most significant contribution as Program Director and Editor.
Michael is survived by his son Brian, brother Seymour, and 2 grandsons Alek and Brock. He was preceded in death by his wife Ina, daughter Cynthia, and granddaughter Sophie. A memorial service will be held at 1:30pm on Dec 16, 2012 at Congregation Shir Hadash, Los Gatos.
