A long time Los Altos resident, she was born in Amery, Wisconsin and moved to California as a teenager. In her 20’s Nannette worked as a high fashion model in both San Francisco and New York. In addition to runway work, she starred on the Jackie Gleason Show and was named “one of the 10 most beautiful women in the U.S.” in 1953. After moving to Los Altos in 1972 with her husband, Franz Anderson, she became a real estate agent and broker. Nannette worked for Los Altos companies such as Grubb and Ellis and Merit McBride for many years.
Nannette was devoted to her only daughter, Suzanne Virga-Redfield, granddaughters Katie and Isabel Virga (also Los Altos residents), and of course, her late husband, Franz. Nannette’s siblings, Lois, Paul and Mary predeceased her by several years. Nannette also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, son-in-law, Keith Redfield and Steve Virga, her grandaughter’s, father.
