Robert “Bob” Curran, age 79, died peacefully at his home in Georgetown, Texas on May 29, 2012. Bob was born in East St. Louis to Lora Hogan and Frank Curran. He and his wife, Mary Lou Sells Curran, grew up in the mid-west, and enjoyed a long and wonderful life together. After marrying they began raising their 3 sons: Jeff (Marci); Jim (Caryn); and Peter (Jennifer). Their sons have been their greatest joy. They later moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, where they lived for 35 years before retiring to Sun City, Georgetown, TX in 2003. Bob spent a lifetime in the retail business, first with J.C. Penney Co., then as a Buyer for Joske’s Department Stores; he then branched out as Owner of “A. E. Cramer, Ltd., and R.D. Curran, Ltd.”, a set of fine gift and luggage stores located adjacent to Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA, and in Los Altos, CA. A devoted father of three athletic sons, he was their most avid fan and never missed a meet, match, or game. Especially dear to him was his sister Mildred Alberts, her son Alan (Annette), and Alan’s children, Brian and Lauren.

He will be greatly missed by his family, including grandchildren Ben (Jamie), Caitlin (Nathan), Jenna, Jaci, Joseph, Hannah, Hailey, and Hans, his great-granddaughter Charlotte, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church

in Georgetown, TX, on June 23,

1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Grace Episcopal Church of Georgetown, or The Rotary Club Intl/ Worldwide Eradication of Polio.
