Troop 37 members earn Eagles
Anthony Ebbs and Jonas Schill, members of Boy Scout Troop 37 of Los Altos, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the organization’s highest title.
They received their awards at an Eagle Court of Honor attended by family and friends April 19.
Ebbs and Schill are juniors at Mountain View High and Los Altos High, respectively.
The longtime friends have participated in two high-adventure trips together – Northern Tier, a week spent canoeing, and Seabase, a scuba-diving trip in Florida. This summer they will embark on their third high-adventure camp, a backpacking trip in New Mexico.
Ebbs, who has received the Edgar McDowell, Herman Peters and Scout of the Year awards, said his favorite part of scouting is the yearly winter snow-camping trip. Schill shared that he most looks forward to the annual Troop 37 Kayak Camp.
For his Eagle project, Ebbs constructed planter boxes at Blach Intermediate School, complete with an irrigation system.
Schill refurbished a Festival of Lights Parade float, making it both more energy efficient with LED lights and more beautiful with new floral paper.
