Eagle Scout hopeful builds garden for homeless shelter: Scouting News

Bernstein, 15, devoted many hours to research and prepare the project as well the physical labor to install it.

He and his volunteers used 3 tons of dirt and pea gravel during the two days constructing the 20-foot-by-20-foot garden Aug. 18 and 19. Bernstein also planted a lemon tree and built a bench to complement the garden.

“It’s great for the Eagle project and great for the residents,” he said. “I’ve been very excited about it.”
