Sharon Washington and Colman Domingo star in TheatreWorks’ “Wild with Happy.”

TheatreWorks’ West Coast premiere of “Wild with Happy” is scheduled to run through June 30 at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St.

Award-winning playwright Colman Domingo wrote the comedy and stars in the production.

“Happy” follows a struggling black actor who finds himself on an unexpected road trip to take his mother’s ashes to the place where she was happiest.

Directed by Danny Scheie, the play stars Domingo and Sharon Washington, who received an Outstanding Lead Actress Lucille Lortel Award for her performance in the show’s 2012 Off-Broadway world premiere.

Performances are slated 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 2 and/or 8 p.m. Saturdays and 2 and/or 7 p.m. Sundays.

Tickets are $23-$64.
