The Community School of Music and Arts presents “Color and Shape” – an exhibition featuring paintings by Mitchell Johnson – through May 26 in Mountain View.
Johnson’s paintings have appeared in publications such as ARTnews, Art in America, the New York Times Magazine, Sunset Magazine, Gentry and The Huffington Post; on the TV show “Oprah’s Next Chapter”; and in such films as “The Holiday,” “It’s Complicated” and “Crazy Stupid Love.”
Johnson moved to Silicon Valley in 1990 after completing his master’s degree in fine arts at Parsons School of Design in New York City. He divides his time between California and his favorite painting locations in Cape Cod, Italy, France and Denmark. His paintings can be found in more than 700 collections, including the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.
“Color and Shape” is on display in the Mohr Gallery at CSMA, 230 San Antonio Circle, Mountain View. Exhibition hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is free.
