The Pear Avenue Theatre production of Tom Stoppard’s “The Real Thing” opened last week and is scheduled to run through Nov. 18 in Mountain View.
The second show of Pear’s 11th season, “The Real Thing” is widely considered British playwright Stoppard’s most endearing and personal play.
The story centers on Henry, a clever playwright who adores music by The Monkees and bands of their ilk. While Henry loves the music, much to his dismay, his eloquence fails him when attempting to decipher the language of love.
Ray Renati directs “The Real Thing.” The cast includes Lucy Littlewood (as Charlotte), Michael Champlin (Henry), Fred Pitts (Max), Robert Sean Campbell (Billy), Carla Pauli (Annie), Madeline Napel (Debbie) and Brandon Leland (Brodie).
Performances are scheduled 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays. The theater is located at 1220 Pear Ave.
Tickets are $10-$30.
