'Clean' getaway

The Bus Barn Stage Company production of Sarah Ruhl’s “The Clean House” is slated to close Saturday in Los Altos.

Nominated for the Pulitzer Prize, “House” is a comedy for mature audiences.

Set in a metaphysical Connecticut, the play begins by introducing Lane and Charles, married doctors in need of care for their house and hearts.

Lane hires Matilde, a young Brazilian woman who has come to the United States to escape her past and is obsessed with finding the perfect joke.

As the couple’s marriage falls apart, Matilde finds herself in the middle of the crisis.

Jeanie K. Smith directs a cast featuring Leslie Breton, Monica Cappuccini, Sondra Putnam, Carolyn Ford Compton and Steve Lambert.

Performances are scheduled 7:30 p.m. today and 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at the Bus Barn Theater, 97 Hillview Ave.

Tickets are $30; discounts are offered to students.
