The Landing Resort & Spa in Lake Tahoe boasts guest roomswith fireplaces, flat-screen televisions and panoramic views of the lake.

The Landing Resort & Spa debuted with a big splash on Lake Tahoe’s South Shore.

The recent grand opening of the five-star, 88-room boutique hotel, restaurant, spa and conference center drew a crowd of celebrities that included model Heidi Klum and singer Babyface Edmonds.

Located adjacent to Tahoe’s Lakeside Beach, The Landing Resort & Spa offers guests access to resort amenities including a large wine cellar featuring a selection of 250 labels from around the world, an onyx-walled bar, a state-of-the-art fitness center and an outdoor pool and hot tub.

Guest rooms at the resort – owned by Jim and Nancy Demetriades, who also own the Sierra Nevada Resort in Mammoth Lakes – feature gas fireplaces, contemporary European-style furnishings, wood floors, marble bathrooms, custom-made headboards and stonework. Amenities include 55-inch wall-mounted televisions, in-room Keurig coffee service, pillow-top mattresses, down pillows and comforters, heated bathroom floors and toilet seats, waterfall showers and private decks, most with Lake Tahoe views. Select suites offer aromatherapy, heat therapy, music therapy, light therapy, steam showers, heated towel racks and thermo masseur tubs.

The full-service spa and hair salon provides customized spa treatments using organic and natural botanicals, including sports-specific treatments ideal for après-ski time. The spa includes steam showers and a Spa Sanctuary serving a selection of detoxifying teas.

British chef Maria Elia, known for her fresh take on traditional Greek cuisine, designed the menu for The Landing’s new Jimmy’s Restaurant, where she is resort chef.

The hotel includes wedding and meeting space.

Valet parking and high-speed Wi-Fi are complimentary for The Landing’s guests.

The Landing is within walking distance to golf, outdoor concerts, nightlife, dining and shopping in South Lake Tahoe, and blocks from Heavenly Village and a number of casinos. The resort provides complimentary transportation to the Heavenly Gondola.

Winter rates range from $249 to $579, with special packages available for couples and skiers.
