Registration open for Sequoia Century ride

Registration for the Sequoia Century Bicycle Ride – scheduled June 2, beginning at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills – is under way. Organized by the Western Wheelers Bicycle Club, the event offers three routes through the mountains to the coast and back (100 and 200 kilometers and 100 miles) and another through Saratoga, Los Altos Hills and Portola Valley (50 miles). Sign-ups under way for MV sports camp

Registration for Spartans Sports Camp’s summer program has begun. Directed by Doug Wiersig, the second-year camp is scheduled June 10 through July 26 at Mountain View High. It offers seven sessions of multisport camps (for those entering grades 3-6) and strength and agility camps (grades 6-12), and two sessions of sport-specific camps in basketball, soccer and baseball. In addition, there will be advanced camps in girls volleyball and girls water polo, and a boys lacrosse camp. Proceeds benefit Mountain View High athletics.
