Local league hosts Pony regionals

Los Altos-Mountain View PONY Baseball is scheduled to host the eight-day Pony division (14-and-under) NorCal regionals through Saturday at Skip Mueller Field at Rosita Park. The host team was slated to open the double-elimination tournament Saturday against Tara Hills. The winner’s bracket semifinals are set for 5:30 p.m. today and the championship game is scheduled 10 a.m. Saturday.

Flag football camp kicks off Monday

Returning for its ninth year, After School Athletics’ Flag Football Summer Camp is scheduled 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Aug. 1 at Foothill College, 12345 S. El Monte Road, Los Altos Hills. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 7-12. Instructors include football coaches from Mountain View and St. Francis highs and Foothill College. Cost is $250 and an additional $50 for lunch. Fall softball tryouts slated next month

Soccer sign-ups kick into gear

Registration is open for AYSO Region 43’s fall soccer season. The region serves boys and girls in grades K-12 who live in northern Los Altos and Los Altos Hills. AYSO follows six philosophies: everyone plays, player development, positive coaching, good sportsmanship, balanced teams and open registration. The registration fee is $195. Spartans Sports Camp continues

Spartans Sports Camp offers multisport, weeklong sessions for boys and girls in grades 2-6 as well as sport-specific sessions for grades 5-9 at Mountain View High. There are also strength and conditioning camps for grades 6-12 and cheerleading camps for grades Pre-K to 8. Mountain View coaches and student-athletes run the summer camp, scheduled through Aug. 1.
