Hing, Bade honored

Pinewood School’s Marissa Hing and Leeana Bade last month were named to the Cal-Hi Sports All-State Girls Basketball Team for Division V. Hing, a 5-foot-2 point guard, was also named Division V State Player of the Year for her performance as a junior. Bade, a 5-foot-10 forward, graduated in June. The pair helped the Panthers claim the Division V state championship in March.

Red Star registration

Registration is open for Red Star Soccer Academy summer training programs. Weeklong full, half-day and two-hour programs are offered to boys and girls ages 7-14 through July at Los Altos’ Grant Park. Pop Warner kicks off

Sports camp sign-ups

Spartans Sports Camp, which kicked off last week, offers multisport, weeklong sessions for boys and girls in grades 2-6 as well as sport-specific sessions for grades 5-9 at Mountain View High. There will also be strength and conditioning camps for grades 6-12, along with cheerleading camps for grades Pre-K to 8. Mountain View High coaches and student-athletes run the summer camp, scheduled through Aug. 1. Fees vary; proceeds benefit the school’s athletic department. Soccer kicks into gear
