All-stars announced

Los Altos High football coach Trevor Pruitt will guide the North when it plays the South in the 40th annual Silicon Valley Youth Classic, scheduled 7:30 p.m. July 23 at San Jose City College. Also known as the Charlie Wedemeyer High School All-Star Football Game, the contest honors the late Los Gatos High coach and features senior standouts from throughout Santa Clara County. The North roster includes quarterback Lambie Lanman, receiver Victor Ruiz, defensive tackle Ofisa Pati and linebacker Josh Williams of Los Altos, utility player Anthony Avery and fullback Jake Butters of Mountain View and halfback Alex Andrighetto and tackle Ryan Popolizio of St. Francis. Sports camp sign-ups

Spartans Sports Camp this summer will offer multisport, weeklong sessions for boys and girls in grades 2-6 as well as sport-specific sessions for grades 5-9 at Mountain View High. There will also be strength and conditioning camps for grades 6-12, along with cheerleading camps for grades Pre-K to 8. Mountain View High coaches and student-athletes run the camp, scheduled June 9 through Aug. 1. Fees vary; proceeds benefit the school’s athletic department. Soccer kicks into gear

Registration is open for AYSO Region 43’s fall soccer season. The region serves boys and girls in grades K-12 who live in northern Los Altos and Los Altos Hills. AYSO follows six philosophies: everyone plays, player development, positive coaching, good sportsmanship, balanced teams and open registration. Swing for baseball club

The Los Altos Hills-based Peninsula Baseball Club has scheduled a golf tournament Friday at Shoreline Golf Links in Mountain View to raise funds for the 12-year-old team’s upcoming trip to Cooperstown, N.Y., to play at Dreams Park. Check-in time is 11:30 a.m., with box lunch to follow, and the tourney tees off at 1 p.m. Cost is $100, which includes greens fee, lunch, cart and $4 merchandise credit.
