Pathways Run/Walk slated May 10 in Hills

The 13th annual Pathways Run/Walk is scheduled 9 a.m. May 10 at Westwind Community Barn, 27210 Altamont Road, Los Altos Hills. The course wends through Byrne Preserve and onto the Los Altos Hills Pathways system. The 5k/10k is slated to start at 9 a.m. and the 1-mile fun run at 10:30 a.m. Registration for the 5k/10k is $35 in advance ($40 on race day), discounted to $25 for those in groups of 10 or more. The fun run is $20 in advance ($25 on race day). Those who register by May 5 will receive a T-shirt. Champions event set for May 3 at Stanford

Children’s Champions – a fundraising event featuring an array of fitness activities, arts and crafts and games – is scheduled 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 3 at Stanford Stadium. NFL players Alex Debniak, Will Tukuafu and Luke Marquardt of the San Francisco 49ers and Miles Burris, Trent Edwards and Latavius Murray of the Oakland Raiders are slated to appear. Proceeds benefit the Wender Weis Foundation for Children and Fit Kids, which aim to improve children’s self-esteem and promote a healthy, active lifestyle among children in underserved communities, respectively. Golf tourney benefits baseball club trip

The Los Altos Hills-based Peninsula Baseball Club has scheduled a golf tournament May 9 at Shoreline Golf Links in Mountain View to raise funds for the 12-year-old team’s upcoming trip to Cooperstown, N.Y., to play at Dreams Park. Check-in time is 11:30 a.m., with box lunch to follow, and the tourney tees off at 1 p.m. Cost is $100, which includes greens fee, lunch, cart and $4 merchandise credit.
