Bike clinic

The NorCal High School Mountain Bike League has scheduled a free, two-day skills clinic for high school riders 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 10 and 11 at Bicycle Outfitter, 963 Fremont Ave., Los Altos. Malcolm Flint, the group’s founder and event organizer, said the first day includes a check of participants’ bikes to make sure they are in working order, an introductory talk about mountain biking and a skills clinic featuring professional rider Will Curtis. Registration is open for AYSO Region 43’s fall soccer season. The region serves boys and girls in grades K-12 who live in northern Los Altos and Los Altos Hills. AYSO follows six philosophies: everyone plays, player development, positive coaching, good sportsmanship, balanced teams and open registration.
