St. Simon School’s 10th annual Father Murray Memorial Basketball Tournament is scheduled Thursday through Sunday in Los Altos.
Eight boys teams and eight girls teams are set to compete in the eighth-grade tournament, held in the school gym. Participants include host St. Simon, St. Nicholas (Los Altos Hills), St. Raymond (Menlo Park), Sacred Heart Prep (Atherton), Hillview (Menlo Park), St. Apollinaris (Napa), Castilleja (Palo Alto) and Menlo School.
Games are slated to start at 4, 5:15, 6:30 and 7:45 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Ten games are set for Saturday, beginning at 8:45 a.m., and six on Sunday – highlighted by the girls (3:15 p.m.) and boys (5 p.m.) championship games.
The tourney honors the late Father Tom Murray, a priest who lived in retirement at St. Simon Parish for 12 years and was a fixture at school basketball games.
Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for students and seniors, and free for children 4 and under. Proceeds benefit the St. Simon athletic department.
The snack bar, run by Jim Otis and Jim Meola, will be open throughout the tournament and offer individual pizzas, cookies, pasta, steak sandwiches and more.
St. Simon is located at 1840 Grant Road, Los Altos.
