Ugandan pastor visits U.S. to raise support for children's ministry

Now imagine that you and your siblings were orphaned at an early age and you assumed responsibility for raising the nine siblings that your mother gave birth to while only a child yourself.

Union Presbyterian offers healing room

Union Presbyterian Church of Los Altos is scheduled to open its InSpirit Praise & Prayer Healing Room 10 a.m. to noon Saturday in the sanctuary, 858 University Ave.

Director Laurie Kurgas said the healing room is open to anyone battling an illness or injury, or feeling discouraged.

Meditation group meets at Foothills Congregational

A Weekly Meditation Practice group meets 7-8:15 a.m. Tuesdays at Foothills Congregational Church, 461 Orange Ave., Los Altos.

Each session includes the context for and instruction in a meditation practice for that week, ample time for practice and opportunities to share with and learn from group participants as they integrate the practice in their daily lives.
