Author visits Foothill Covenant
Judy Squier, author of “Living in the Names of God” and “His Majesty in Brokenness,” is scheduled to speak 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Foothill Covenant Church, 1555 Oak Ave., Los Altos.
Squier is a wife, mother, grandmother and former Silicon Valley resident who now lives in Grants Pass, Ore. Born without complete legs, Squier said her goal in life is “for those who know (me) to know Him, the God whose heart beats to be known up close and personal.”

Meditation group meets at Foothills Congregational
A Weekly Meditation Practice group meets 7-8:15 a.m. Tuesdays at Foothills Congregational Church, 461 Orange Ave., Los Altos.
Each session will include the context and instruction in a meditation practice for that week, ample time for practice and opportunities to share with and learn from group participants as they integrate the practice in their daily lives.
Admission is free and open to all, including both new and experienced meditators.
offers healing room
Union Presbyterian Church of Los Altos offers an InSpirit Praise & Prayer Healing Room 10 a.m. to noon the first Saturday of every month in the sanctuary, 858 University Ave. The next healing room is scheduled Saturday.
Director Laurie Kurgas said the healing room is open to anyone battling an illness or injury, or feeling discouraged.
“We will pray with you for healing and for you to draw closer to God,” she said.
