Local Alpha Course launches in February
Union Presbyterian Church of Los Altos has scheduled an Alpha Course that begins with an introductory session 6-8:30 p.m. Feb. 2 at the home of the church’s pastor, the Rev. David Moore, 860 University Ave., Los Altos.
The course, designed to encourage participants to explore Christianity in a safe environment, includes a light dinner and discussion in a relaxed and open setting.
Participants may or may not continue to attend after the introductory session. The 10-week course will continue on Sunday evenings with a series of professional presentations on DVD, followed by nonjudgmental roundtable discussions.
Participants are invited to ask questions on why Christians believe what the Bible says, the creation of the world and evolution, if God really exists and if there is life after death. People attend Alpha from many different backgrounds, religions and viewpoints. Some have gone to church all their lives but feel that they never really understood the basics of the Christian faith.
Admission is free and open to the public.

Admission is free and open to all, including both new and experienced meditators.
