Congregation Beth Am has scheduled “Bashert!” (Yiddish for “destiny, meant-to-be”), a new play based on true how-we-met stories, 4 p.m. Saturday at 26790 Arastradero Road, Los Altos Hills.

Rabbi Janet Marder plays God in this original work by playwright/children’s author Caryn Huberman Yacowitz.

Featuring local actors and based on World War II vintage tales and modern stories of love shared by local residents, the play depicts both humorous and poignant stories. Discussion and a reception follow the performance.

Admission is free and open to the public. Early arrival is recommended due to limited seating.

For more information, call Yacowitz at 326-0600.
