Two LAHS students receive ‘Innovator’ scholarships

Los Altos High School students Richelle Smith and Jerry Liu receive “Innovator of the Future” scholarships from Rambus Inc.

Rambus Inc. recently awarded “Innovator of the Future” scholarships to Los Altos High School students Jerry Liu and Richelle Smith.

Liu and Smith each received $10,000 for tuition and books at a college or university. The scholarship money will be distributed in equal increments over four years. The four finalists for the scholarships will receive a one-time award of $1,000.

“We are pleased to be able to continue our commitment to helping future innovators broaden their educational opportunities,” said Martin Scott, chief technology officer at Rambus. “Both Jerry and Richelle have demonstrated enthusiasm, passion and dedication to exploring careers in the areas of science and technology.”

Established in 2005, the Rambus scholarship program recognizes students for academic excellence; passion for technology; leadership in school, civic and extracurricular activities; and motivation to serve and succeed.
