Foothill Middle College celebrates 20 years

Foothill Middle College, which serves local high school students, has scheduled its 20th anniversary celebration June 29 and 30.

The event will feature an “Open Mic” benefit for the Middle College Scholarship June 29 and a reunion picnic and celebration on the Foothill campus June 30.

Organizers are searching for graduates of the Foothill Middle College program to participate in the anniversary activities.

Speaker series features ‘Bully’ film

The Mountain View Los Altos Parent Education Speaker Series has scheduled a screening of the film “Bully” 6:30 p.m. April 23 in Spartan Theater at Mountain View High School, 3535 Truman Ave.

“Bully” is a 2011 documentary by Lee Hirsch about bullying in U.S. schools. The film follows the lives of five students who face bullying on a daily basis.

Experts in bullying prevention Gloria Moskowitz-Sweet, co-founder of My Digital TAT2, and Jack Weinstein, director of Facing History and Ourselves, will moderate a discussion following the screening.

The Mountain View-Los Altos High School Foundation and the Los Altos-Mountain View PTA Council co-sponsor the event.

Admission is free, but attendees are asked to register online by visiting mvlabullyfilm.eventbrite.com.
