Candidates interview for Almond principal post

Los Altos School District officials are interviewing candidates for principal for Almond School.

Former Principal Terri Stromfeld notified Superintendent Jeff Baier in early July that she planned to resign from the district to become coordinator for staff development and special projects in San Jose’s Union School District.

Last week, Baier and a group comprising parents, teachers and principals interviewed the first round of candidates. This week, the remaining candidates will meet with the administrative team.

Baier said the board is scheduled to approve a new principal at a special meeting Thursday or the following Monday.

In addition, the district has hired approximately 15 new teachers, spread throughout the district, to replace those lost through attrition.
