DezignKidz hosts summer fashion camp
Fledgling fashionistas are invited to attend DezignKidz Summer Camps at Covington School, 205 Covington Road, Los Altos.
The camps, aimed at youth 7-12, focus on the fashion world and explain how to take a garment or accessory from concept to completion in weeklong programs.
Offerings include Fashion Dezign 1, Fashion Dezign 2 or Artistic Accessories, where budding designers can learn techniques in weaving, sewing, fabric printing/dyeing and jewelry making and use them to make purses, belts, hair accessories and more.
The camps culminate in a fashion show July 29.
For session dates and registration information, visit www.dezignkidz.com or call 346-5896.

Foothill College increases fees
Foothill College has increased its per-unit fee to $24, effective in the fall.
In March, Gov. Jerry Brown signed Senate Bill 70, the education trailer bill, which included a student-fee increase at all 112 California community colleges.
At Foothill and De Anza colleges, both of which are on the 12-week quarter system, the per-unit fee will increase from its current $17 to $24 per unit for Fall Quarter classes.
At community college campuses that observe the semester system, the fee rises from $26 to $36 per unit.
