LAKA summer classes open for registration
Los Altos KidzAdventures (LAKA) has scheduled a variety of summer enrichment classes for students entering grades 1-4.
Classes are scheduled 8:30 a.m. to noon June 20 through July 15 at Santa Rita School, 700 Los Altos Ave. Credentialed teachers teach all classes.
Reading, writing and math classes are designed for all ability levels – to give a boost or create a challenge. Other LAKA offerings include Young Chefs, Computers, Outrageous Outdoor Games, Magnificent Machines, Art, Lively Ink, Math Masters, Writing Workshop and Mysterious World.
In four weeks, a student can take four different classes, two for each two-week session.
LAKA offers a support program for first- and second-grade students through Phonemic Awareness, Reading into First and Reading into Second classes. Support classes feature a teacher-to-student ratio of 1:8.
ScholarKids schedules summer program
ScholarKids, a summer enrichment program for incoming fifth- through eighth-graders, has scheduled a variety of classes June 20 through July 15 at Egan Junior High, 100 W. Portola Ave., Los Altos.
Classes, taught by credentialed teachers, include Aviation, Junior MD, CSI Los Altos, Chemistry for Kids, Creative Outdoors, Woodworking, Rocketry, Transitioning to Middle School, Master Chefs, Mini Economy, Speech and Debate, and Arts and Crafts.
Classes are $150-$175 for two-week sessions. Some classes include additional fees.

DezignKidz hosts summer fashion camp
Fledgling fashionistas are invited to attend DezignKidz Summer Camps at Covington School, 205 Covington Road, Los Altos.
The camps, aimed at youth 7-12, focus on the fashion world and explain how to take a garment or accessory from concept to completion in weeklong programs.
Offerings include Fashion Dezign 1, Fashion Dezign 2 or Artistic Accessories, where budding designers can learn techniques in weaving, sewing, fabric printing/dyeing and jewelry making and use them to make purses, belts, hair accessories and more.
The camps culminate in a fashion show July 29.
